The Big Race

Joseph and his brother Todd surprised us all (and themselves, I think) and ran the Tulsa marathon this past Sunday! Both hurting and dealing with minor injuries, they decide to just run for the heck of it since they were already signed up but had no expectations of really finishing.

Mile 2 -- the two debated whether or not to quit, b/c they were beginning to hurt.

24.2 miles later, they crossed the finish line, perhaps no one as surprised as themselves that they finished!

Way to go Todd & Joseph!

Just a few minutes before the start. Joseph was so sure they weren't going to finish that he was downing hot chocolate before the race . . . . who knew??
Bekah & Lindsey with our motivational poster. Classic.
Mile 5 -- still lookin' strong, but hurting
Runnin' with Anna across the finish line. When done, Anna said "We did it, Daddy, we did it!"
26.2 miles . . . priceless (and painful)
The day after the race, Joseph limped around like a sad little puppy! But he did it!

Whoa!!! Tell me they did this on a whim without training? This is a new league of fitness altogether. Shock and awe from this side of the fence...shock and awe.

Wow! The guy in white shorts and a blue long sleeve shirt has major bird legs! It like a chicken ran a marathon. Guess who wrote this...
