An Afternoon at the Beach

We were recently invited to go with some friends of ours to the beach during 'sore' (the time in the afternoon from 4 - 6 pm). Once we arrived, it was a bit difficult to find a place to sit down because of all the trash. People don't throw away their trash here - well, actually, they do, just where ever they are at the moment is where they throw it. A bit depressing to see such a beautiful beach littered with trash, but we finally found a spot relatively clear and Lindsey and Mrs. Y set out all the food while Joseph, Mr. D, Anna and two of her friends headed towards the water. They enjoyed "bathing" (as the locals call it - not to many people know how to swim) while Lindsey and Mrs. Y enjoyed a good talk! As the girls continued to play in the sand, the four of us adults played blockus (a new Aussie game we just learned!) - BTW games definately transcend language! Or maybe it's just 'winning' that transcends language. Anyway, as the sun was setting we packed things up, passed several cows wandering around near the beach, and then we headed home!
